iNdonesian Story – The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry (Kemlu) has expressed strong support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants issued against Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense authority head Yoav Gallant.

“The ICC’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant marks a significant step toward achieving justice for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Palestine,” stated Kemlu in an official release on Saturday.

Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all efforts that ensure accountability for Israel’s alleged crimes, including actions pursued through the ICC. “Indonesia emphasizes that these arrest warrants must be executed in strict compliance with international law,” the ministry added.

The government views this development as critical for ending Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and advancing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the Two-State Solution.

The ICC formally issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant on Thursday, November 21, citing accusations of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024. The May 20 date marks the day the ICC Prosecutor filed the request for these warrants.

The court rejected Israel’s claims that the ICC lacks jurisdiction, reinforcing its stance on the accountability of Netanyahu and Gallant.

Indonesia’s support for the ICC’s actions underscores its longstanding commitment to justice and the rights of the Palestinian people, aligning with international efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
